 MOON DRUMMERS

Gulli Hughes started The Moon Drummers in November 2004 and since then we have been meeting once a month on the Friday closest to the Full Moon, and in fact there are women’s groups who do the same all over the world.
We meet to share our thoughts and dreams, aspirations and struggles in a supportive and caring environment, much the same as women have done in different cultures for many thousands of years.
We usually meet from 7:30 to 9:30pm in a yurt in Welwyn and the drumming part usually lasts for about two 20 minute sessions. In addition to drumming, the intention of which is to offer healing and prayer, we sometimes sing or chant.
The group is not from any religious or cultural background, but we have had women attend from Sweden, France, Germany, Hungary, Africa, Denmark, USA and all parts of the UK. There are usually about 10 of us but there are over 100 women in the larger group who will attend other functions together from time to time all over the world.
We welcome any local women who would like to join us. You do not need to have any experience or bring anything, and age is immaterial. The group has also been attended by women with disabilities, we will try to accommodate all. You can read more about the co-organisers on the Moon Journeys page.

Suggested donation £8.
